Second Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opens in Lake Worth - Curaleaf

Curaleaf is set to open today and will be the second medical marijuana dispensary in Lake Worth, FL, to date.

Even amidst an unsure future in Florida, Curaleaf opens its doors Monday and is located at 1125 North Dixie Hwy. This location is only about 1 mile away from the first dispensary in Lake Worth, Knowx medical, they opened for business about two months ago.

Currently, Curaleaf's new location is across the street from the Acadamy for Positive Learning and may be in violation of a new law passed last month. The new law specifically prohibits any marijuana-related businesses, to be within 1000 feet of a school.

However, the dispensary was already approved and on its way into the city before the legislation was passed.

Either way, Curaleaf opened its doors today, serving any state-approved, medical marijuana patients, looking to obtain their medicine.

Lake Worth has proven to be a busy marketplace according to polls by cannabis supporters. Now that there are two dispensaries here and plans for more in Palm Beach and Martin Counties, it looks like cannabis is here to stay.

As of 2018, over 60,000 new patients have been approved in Florida, with more in waiting.

Curaleaf sells their version of medical marijuana vape oil, available in Indica, Sativa and Hybrid strains. They also have oral tinctures, sprays, and other products coming soon. In order to obtain product from the dispensary, a patient must be approved by the Office Of Medical Marijuana Use and have a valid MMJ doctors recommendation.

Florida expanded the qualifying conditions under Amendment 2 law, passed back in 2016.
